We started this business because we recognized a need in the market for businesses who struggle with social media. Honestly, we kept being approached by other bloggers, and businesses to help them to do better. Our results speak for themselves.
It isn’t simply small businesses that struggle with social media challenges. We have been shocked to see big companies underperform and suffer from low engagement ratios compared to how many followers they have. These companies are lucky to get 300 likes and 10 comments despite having over 30k followers. What is lacking is an understanding of how to leverage their brand correctly on social media and what it really takes to make a successful marketing campaign.
We see on a daily basis companies throwing money into producing content and not understanding how to post it with the correct hashtags, times, and message which renders all of their efforts basically useless.
What we also see is companies relying on their in-house employees to manage their social media accounts without the knowledge or time to do it correctly. They don’t know the latest marketing trends, rules, or software to make the account truly successful. Brand social media is very different from personal accounts. There are also laws that govern social media accounts that most people are unaware of to consider.
There are “social media consultants” out there who will tell you they are professionals. From what we have observed, this usually entails sharing other people’s photos on the client account, and posting photos that clients provide them with. There are some who only post on Instagram 3 days a week! They get away with this behavior because social media is still a mystery to most people. The clients have no clue what to expect nor what social media can really do for their business if used correctly.
Many social media consultants do not have a strategy other than the follow/unfollow game which gets their clients lazy followers who don’t actively engage with the target account or content. We don’t play that game. We strive for quality engagement and active participating followers. We do not buy followers for our clients nor do we spend money boosting content on Facebook ads, Twitter, or Instagram ads. We have found this to be a waste of resources for the most part.
Social media consulting is very different and sub specialized from what traditional PR agencies do. We work closely with PR to help keep the message focused and consistent. We do not take the place of your current PR firm. We help them to help you. What we do has its own rules, software, and challenges.
